MISEV2023 is guidance from the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles on how to produce, separate, characterize and report vesicle studies. It was built with expert task forces and feedback from researchers across the field, and it lays out the methods available today along with their limits.
It was written for researchers. It has no pass mark and no certificate, so a product can’t hold a MISEV2023 approval.
Where it helps a brand is as a map. For a given source, it shows which questions a careful study answers:
- How many particles are there?
- What else is in the sample?
- What shows they are vesicles?
- How do they hold up in storage?
A written assessment against the sections that apply to your source is an honest use of it.
